As Commissioner of the Sustainability Board:

  • We developed and implemented a Management System for Sustainability in GIZ. Since then, the topic ‘sustainability’ is directly connected to the Management Board (including the establishment of a sustainability board under the direction of the chair of the Management Board of GIZ
  • We created an innovative management method to define and continually enhance the company’s sustainability performance: the Corporate Sustainability Handprint® (CSH), with world-wide implementation
  • We issued two sustainability reports according to GRI („Global Reporting Initiative„)
  • We issued the first integrated company report of GIZ
  • We joined the German Sustainability Code and issued two declarations of conformity
  • We issued two reports („Communication on Progress“) to the UN Global Compact

The Corporate Sustainability Handprint® (CSH) was awarded ‘Best Practice’ in Sustainability Management by the Bertelsmann Foundation (“Bertelsmann Stiftung” –  Corporate Responsibility Index, CRI) in 2015
